Day
1:
Our tour takes you across some high & rugged Country before arriving at
forgotten Goldfields . After travelling along the Great Alpine Road, we make our
way to the Buckland Valley once home to more than 8,000 miners following the
discovery of gold in 1853. As we wind our through the Valleys we get to see many
changes in vegetation & spectacular views of the surrounding Mountains.
Continuing along the track we encounter river crossings before arriving at our
campsite along the grassy banks of the Crooked River. |

Day
2:
Today we set off to the
Historic Township of Grant once a booming Gold Town with a Population of around
2,000 back in 1865. Most of the gold was gone 10 years later with the last of
the residents leaving in 1916. |

Once we leave Grant we drive back along the High Plains where you often see
cattleman droving their stock. Time permitting we take a stroll around an Alpine
Village after lunch, returning back to Wangaratta late afternoon. |
